Good morning all,
Recently I was asked by the clinical engineer team to review the chemicals used for cleaning the clinical equipment as a lot of expensive equipment reported serious damages. The staff used mostly Medipal disinfectant wipes for everything and Chlorine based products for infectious patients.
Did anyone have the same experience?…[Read more] -

Thank you Tracy Doherty and Ciaran McCullagh for your replies.
In response:
Roles & responsibilities – OH were too busy to get involved at present and H&S agreed to lead after much discussion. However a lot still falls on IPC to problem solve.
Having a repeat test by another tester may help but we have retested some staff and they still…[Read more]

Nice to get a non-COVID question Helen. However, I cannot help you with your query but I do remember there was a place that did take patient equipment for decontamination. Hopefully someone will be able to assist you.

Hello IPC Ireland Members
I hope you are keeping well and some normality is returning. I am looking for a measurable jug that does NOT have a single use symbol on it for measuring body fluid output and I cannot find one.
Can you please message me privately with your supplier name at lenora.leonard@beaconhospital.ie.
Thank you.

Hello IPCIreland members
Hibiscrub is being discontinued in the Irish market due to licensing issues, this also has an impact on Unisept supplies.
What alternative products are you bringing in?

When dedicating stethoscopes in patient rooms, staff do not like to use them due to the earpiece being difficult to clean.
Do any of you use disposable ear pieces for stethoscopes? If yes could you please private message me the name of your supplier?
Thanks
