Meetings
IPCI holds quarterly meetings which facilitate face to face discussion on the set agenda items and provides an opportunity to raise pertinent issues which are encountered in oftentimes different work locations. However as technology progresses IPCI will explore innovative ways of communicating which does not require staff to be released from work areas to liaise with IPC colleagues. Communication via social networking, teleconferences and virtual meetings is enhancing the success of IPCI for its members. A weekly digest email is sent to all members from our website highlighting the issues raised on the discussion board. This communication facilitates keeping abreast of ongoing developments in IPCI.
The organisation holds its official annual general meeting (AGM) each year coinciding with its annual conference. The AGM is open to all members and is an opportunity for the officers to formally update the membership on new appointments as well as present a summary of progress and plans including the financial position of the organisation.
IPCI also holds an annual conference open to all individuals with an interest in this specialty. The focus of this conference is usually upon current issues within the field of infection prevention and control. IPCI also holds an annual continuous development day for member’s only and will focus on clinical or leadership skills depending on the needs of the members.
