Can you advise what is used in the community settings in relation to port decontamination in urinary catheters?
The HPSC CHG2%/Alcohol 70% recommendations related to PVC & CVCS and not UCs & the community standards do not reference CHG2%/Alcohol 70% usage.
We have been using alcohol swabs to date.
Any feedback appreciated.

Does anyone use BPWP that require the detergent to be replenished externally to the machine such as Stanbridge? If so who is responsible for this in your facility? In our new unit, the responsibility of who replenishes the detergent drum is causing a problem …

An interesting query I was asked recently so would appreciate your assistance. Does anyone know of a company that specialises in cleaning and disinfection of the environment in the event of a potential bio terrorism threat using e.g. Category A B or C agents?

Has anyone any guidance in relation to the use of humidified Oxygen and infection control piece? I have been informed that one palliative ward will not use it due to infection control risks? I don’t see any new guidance saying it is a risk. Any thoughts?
